Get ready for an epic adventure! 'Ghost of Yōtei' is about to unleash its multiplayer mode, Legends, and it promises an immersive co-op experience. But here's where it gets exciting: this highly anticipated feature will be available in just a few weeks!
As revealed during the PlayStation State of Play event, Legends will be accessible to all 'Ghost of Yōtei' owners via a free update on March 10th. The trailer showcases a thrilling glimpse into the upcoming co-op action:
Sucker Punch, the developer, has shared intriguing details about Legends. It will introduce three distinct mission types, each offering a unique challenge. In 'Survival' mode, you and up to three allies will battle increasingly formidable foes across four diverse maps. The twist? You must fight for control over each map's territory, and here's where it gets strategic: holding a location grants your team a Blessing, providing a tactical advantage. But beware! Losing control unleashes a Curse, putting your squad at a disadvantage. Each map promises its own set of Curses and Blessings, adding depth to the gameplay.
The 'Story' mode, on the other hand, allows two players to join forces and embark on a series of 12 missions. Completing sets of three missions unlocks an Incursion, a massive four-player assault on the strongholds of the Yōtei Six. These climactic battles feature boss fights against supernatural versions of iconic enemies, including the Spider, Oni, Kitsune, and Snake.
But wait, there's more! Sucker Punch teases an April release for a Raid, where players will face the Dragon and Lord Saito himself, pushing their teamwork to the limit.
Players can choose from four distinct classes in Legends: Samurai, Archer, Mercenary, or Shinobi. Each class offers a unique playstyle. Samurai warriors wield the mighty ōdachi and have access to a wide array of weapons. Archers can use the yari (a spear) and an additional ranged weapon for versatile combat. Mercenaries dual-wield katanas and possess utility-focused abilities, while Shinobi excel in stealth with the kusarigama and a range of stealth skills.
Sucker Punch's Andrew Goldfarb expressed enthusiasm for the mode's return, citing the positive fan response to Legends in 'Ghost of Tsushima'.
